SOFTBALL ROUNDUP (4-11)--LIBBY BEATS HAVRE TWICE.
Libby sweeps Havre
At Libby, the Loggers continued to live up to their billing as Western A favorites, taking both halves of a doubleheader with league foe Havre. Libby needed a six-run sixth frame to pull away and win the opener 8-2 before winning the nightcap 13-0 in a game cut to five innings due to the 10-run margin rule. Laice Dedrick was the hitting star for Libby in the first contest. The senior three-time all-state selection finished 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and two RBIs. Alysha Martin was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Brooke Hageness and Kimi Klin also belted doubles for the Loggers. Hageness tossed a complete-game four-hitter to post the win, fanning seven and walking two. Hageness was a one-person wrecking crew in the second game, smacking a double and a second-inning grand slam, while tossing the first three frames to move her mark to 5-0. Dedrick homered in the sixth as Libby moved to 3-0 in the league, 5-0 overall. Jordan Refsland drove in three runs and Martin added a pair of RBIs for the Loggers.
