At Libby, after defeating Columbia Falls 25-9 and 25-10 in the first two games, the Loggers had to dig deep to pull out the third game in a tight 28-26 win to sweep the Wildkats. All-conference junior Jackie Mee led the defending conference champs with 13 kills, five aces and two blocks. The Loggers tallied 24 aces in the match, led by Devon Hoyer, who served eight. Genesea Meha added nine digs and setter Jordan Refsland contributed 10 assists in the win. Columbia Falls was led by Kayla Dewit's four kills and Alyssa Ladenburg's 11 digs. Libby def. Columbia Falls, 25-9, 25-10, 28-26. Kills - Columbia Falls 13 (Kayla DeWit 4), Libby 28 (Jackie Mee 13). Blocks - Columbia Falls 1, Libby 4 (Mee 2, Nichole Newman 2). Digs - Columbia Falls 28 (Alyssa Ladenburg 11), Libby 26 (Genesea Meha 9). Assists - Columbia Falls 11 (Cassidee Skiles 9), Libby 26 (Jordan Refsland 10). Aces - Columbia Falls 4, Libby 24 (Hoyer 8).
At Polson, the Bulldogs fended off the Pirates in a Northwestern A victory. Polson avoided the sweep in a big third game after losing the first two 25-23 and 25-22. The Pirates outlasted Whitefish 31-29 and carried the momentum into game four, beating the Bulldogs 25-15, before losing the fifth game 15-12. The two teams combined for 215 digs and 96 kills in the match. Kate Klundt tallied 36 digs, 18 kills and five blocks to lead Whitefish. Nicole Davey posted 15 kills to lead Polson. Kayla Duford set all 50 of the Pirates' assists to go with five aces and Staci Benson added 35 digs. Whitefish def. Polson, 25-23, 25-22, 29-31, 15-25, 15-12. Kills - Whitefish 36 (Kate Klundt 18), Polson 60 (Nicole Davey 15). Blocks - Whitefish 10 (Klundt 5), Polson 11 (Brienne Kelly 4). Digs - Whitefish 122 (Klundt 36), Polson 93 (Staci Benson 35).
