VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Polson spikers sweep through Frenchtown

FRENCHTOWN - The Polson volleyball team won its regular-season finale on Saturday with a dominating nonconference win over Frenchtown.

Junior Breanne Kelley had 10 kills and classmate Sallie Sams added nine as the Northwestern A Pirates swept the Southwestern A Broncs 25-12, 25-20, 25-12.

Junior setter Kayla Duford had 32 assists and Nicole Davey finished with seven kills, 20 digs and four aces for Polson, which goes to Libby next week as the No. 1 seed for divisionals.

The Pirates finished the regular season with a perfect 8-0 conference record, 13-0 overall.

Aimee Duncan had 11 digs and Jaylyn Garrison had five kills for Frenchtown.

Libby def. Ronan, 3-0

At Libby, Jackie Mee slammed 16 kills and had seven digs in the Loggers' 25-11, 25-15, 25-5 Northwestern A win over Ronan.

Evi Cernick added 30 assists and three aces for Libby, while teammate Alex Kulbeck had two blocks and three aces.

Tailyr Irvine had four blocks for Ronan.

At Whitefish, Katilyn Wehrli slammed 21 kills and dug up 15 balls to lead Northwestern A Whitefish over Southwestern A Stevensville in a thrilling five-gamer on the final night of the regular season.

Jessica Slaybaugh had 31 assists for the Bulldogs, who won 25-17, 26-28, 25-21, 13-25, 15-13.

Britney Chilcott's 10 kills and Jessica Brunett's 19 digs led the way for the Yellowjackets.

Whitefish def. Stevensville, 25-17, 26-28, 25-21, 13-25, 15-13.
