PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Glacier, Helena lead Missoula Invite

Kalispell Glacier and Helena High won their pools on Friday's first day of the Missoula Invitational volleyball tournament played at the Hellgate and Sentinel gyms.

In the 16-team tournament that features two, 20-point games per match, the Wolfpack won the Sentinel pool by winning 12 games and dropping just two. The Bengals took the Hellgate pool with an identical record.

At Sentinel, Anaconda took second at 10-4, followed by Helena Capital (10-4), Sentinel (9-5), Great Falls High (7-7), Whitefish (4-10), Missoula Big Sky (3-11) and Frenchtown (1-13).

Action at Hellgate saw Kalispell Flathead take second at 11-3, while Hellgate (9-5), Butte (7-7), Great Falls Russell (7-7), Polson (6-8), Libby (4-10) and Columbia Falls (0-14) followed.

The top four teams from each pool will play in Saturday's championship bracket at Sentinel, while the bottom four will compete in the consolation bracket at Hellgate. Play at both sites begins at 9 a.m.
