Northwestern A divisional

At Pablo, Patric Jessat of Columbia Falls and Whitefish's Bailey Eaton each won individual honors to pace their teams to the boys' and girls' championships on Saturday at the Northwestern A divisional cross country meet.

Jessat led the Wildcats to the boys' crown, clocking in at 16 minutes, 40 seconds. He finished just in front of teammates Shawn Whitman, at 16:44, and Derrick Williams, at 16:45, as Columbia Falls locked down the top three places in the race.

The Wildcats took first with 18 points, while Whitefish was second at 61 and Ronan third with 79.

On the girls' side, Eaton finished at 19:12, 14 seconds ahead of the next fastest competition. Mesa Starkey of Polson crossed second, at 19:26.

The Bulldogs' Loni Hanson finished third at 19:55 as Whitefish claimed the team title with 20 points. Columbia Falls was second at 57 and Polson third with 76.
