PREP GOLF: Whitefish cleans up at NWA divisional

COLUMBIA FALLS - Whitefish's boys' and girls' golf teams had a banner day on Thursday, taking team wins and both individual medalist honors at the Northwestern A divisional tournament at Meadow Lake Golf Resort.

Reed Platke's 73 paced the Bulldog boys into first place at the par-72 course, while BreAnna Cameron was tops for the girls, with an 83.

On the boys' side, Whitefish (330) finished 43 strokes ahead of second place Columbia Falls (373). Polson also punched its ticket to state, in third place with a 386.

Polson's Cody Fischer followed Platke in second place with an 85, while the Bulldogs' Joe Blakemore's 85 took third.

The girls' competition was just as lopsided, with Whitefish claiming first at 377, Polson in second at 411, Columbia Falls third with 512.

Natalia Arlint of Polson carded a 91 for second place. The Bulldogs' Kiley McConnell ended in third at 93.

The top three teams and top 15 individuals move on to state in Kalispell, at Village Greens Golf Course on Oct. 9-10.
