TRACK ROUNDUP: Flathead boys, girls sweep past Libby
By the Missoulian KALISPELL - The Kalispell Flathead boys' and girls' track teams beat Libby in a dual meet on Friday in their final tune-up before divisionals.
The Flathead girls outscored Libby 100-41 while the boys won 98-46 at Legends Stadium.
Tess Brenneman won the 100-meter dash, long jump and high jump to set the tone for the Bravettes. Brenneman won the 100 in 13.15 seconds and the long jump at 16 feet. Flathead won 11 individual events and both relays.
Stephany Kluver won the discus and javelin for Libby.
On the boys' side, Flathead won nine events compared to six for Libby, but the Braves had more depth.
Duncan Aylor swept the hurdles and Flathead also took both relay races.
Jesse Bennett posted a top 10 time in winning the 1,600. His time of 4:36.13 is the seventh fastest in the state this spring.
Libby's Seth Wright put up solid marks in all four of the events he won. Wright won the high jump (6-3), long jump (20-5), triple jump (41-2 3/4) and discus (148-4).
